Resignation of Chairman of Dublin Docklands Development Authority
The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Mr. John Gormley T.D. today (23 December 2008) accepted the resignation of Mr. Donal O'Connor as Chairman of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority (DDDA). Mr. O'Connor has served as Chairman of the Authority since the middle of 2007.
"I would like to thank Donal O'Connor for the commitment and integrity he brought to his role as Chairman of the Authority. As the Chair he has played a key leadership role in the Authority in the last 18 months and has been central to advancing a number of important initiatives including the development of the new Master Plan for the area which was recently adopted by the Docklands Council" said the Minister."
Mr. O'Connor was recently appointed as Chair of Anglo Irish Bank and will have a central role on the ongoing recapitalisation and restructuring of the Bank. The Minister wished him well in this important and challenging role which he faces in the new year.
"I will make arrangements to secure a suitable appointment as Chairperson of the DDDA, to lead the Docklands on the next phase of its social and economic regeneration, early in the New Year," said the Minister.
